Why this blog? (my intro post)

I have wanted to start a blog for a really long time because of my love for writing and the joy that I find in sharing knowledge with others. To be honest though until recently I felt that blogging was pointless and just wasted time. However, over the past year or so my opinion on the matter has changed. I find myself not being able to go an entire day without reading an article of some sort or at least saving a few to read later. I have noticed the impact that these articles have on me personally, as well as the rest of the social media community. As I thought more and more about it I asked myself, “There are already so many blogs out there. Why create another?”. I hope that the answer to this question will become evident.

Grace and Knowledge

I have decided to entitle this blog Grace and Knowledge based on the Bible passage in 2 Peter 3, which reads, “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.”. My prayer for this blog is that it would be only a supplement to the Word of God in accomplishing this goal of growing both the writer and reader in the extraordinary grace of God, and the endless Knowledge that we gain from walking with Jesus. I pray also that these efforts would bring glory to God alone. I hope that this blog challenges you to dive deeper into the scriptures as well as encourage you to spend more intimate time with our Heavenly Father. With this in mind, I pray that this blog would be a ministry to my social media friends and community.

What will I be Posting?

Each post that I publish will only be an overflow of my own encounter with God through scripture and prayer. I do not want to write my own personal opinions but rather share the knowledge that I obtain through my own personal studies. On this note I encourage the reader to discerningly test the merit of my published words according his own personal study of the matter at hand. There are many versions of the Bible that I love to read from, but for the purposes of this blog I will be using and quoting from the English standard version. I find that the ESV is a great teaching version as well as easy to read from (the online link is found at the very Botton of my page). Along the way I will be using lots of links to videos and separate articles that I have come across. Those will be found at the end each post. My goal is to post at least once each week. However, I ask for your forgiveness in advance If this goal is not met amongst my busy schedule of two jobs and a college course load. I have included a contact page because I want to hear from you guys! I would love to hear your thoughts on the matters discussed, as well as critiques of my writing. Lastly please pray for me and blog that it would effective at accomplishing the aforementioned goal.

My prayer

My God,
bless this endeavor to grow in the grace and knowledge of your son Christ Jesus. let us receive knowledge from your word alone, for we know that it will not return to you empty. Please allow this blog to do a mighty work in my life as well as the readers’. I pray that we would draw nearer to you each week, that our relationship with you would go deeper than it has ever been, and that our expression of love would be greater than we have ever seen. I pray that your Holy Spirit would touch those that do not yet know you, bringing them to find new life in Jesus. Thank you for you unending love.
In Jesus name I pray,
Amen.
